What is Pre-MBA?
The GLOBIS Pre-MBA program is designed for professionals ready to take the next step in their careers—by strengthening essential leadership and business skills or by laying the foundation for a future MBA. It’s an ideal starting point for those who want to experience MBA-level learning, expand their professional network, and learn the skills they can immediately apply at work.
Pursuing an MBA is a major commitment. With the Pre-MBA, you can take actual courses from our accredited MBA curriculum before formally enrolling in the MBA program. Every course follows the same case-study method, interactive discussions, and practical business focus that define the GLOBIS learning experience.
Whether you’re planning to pursue a full MBA or simply wish to upskill in areas such as leadership, marketing, accounting, or strategy, the Pre-MBA gives you the flexibility, support, and global network to move forward—on your own terms.

"The benefit of starting with the Pre-MBA is that you can start learning immediately with the specific knowledge you need. In my case, that was marketing. From there, you can decide whether to join a full MBA program.
Another benefit of the GLOBIS Pre-MBA is that it helps you prepare for the full MBA workload later on. I only took one Pre-MBA class, so after I entered the full program, I had to take three classes per semester. That was tough. I sometimes did not have enough time to prepare for assignments. Taking several Pre-MBA classes beforehand is a great idea because you can take your time, and that enhances the quality of your learning experience later.”
Application Process
1. Application Requirements
As practicality is the focus of our program, we look for participants who have quality hands-on working experience and will actively contribute to our discussion-based courses.
1. Degree
A bachelor’s degree or a certificate of equivalent value
2. Work Experience
One year of full-time work experience
3. Language Requirements
English proficiency (candidates who fulfill either of the following criteria are considered eligible)
- Native English speaker
- English language proficiency test result: TOEIC/TOEFL/IELTS
*Please share your most recent English test score should you possess one on the Pre-MBA application form.
We can provide an English speaking assessment for applicants without a proficiency score.
4. Essay
“Why do you wish to apply to the Pre-MBA?”
(written in English, at least 200 words)
* You will be asked to resubmit your essay if it is less than 200 words.
2. How to Apply
Step 1: Apply to Pre-MBA
Complete and submit the GLOBIS Pre-MBA Application Form, including:
- Your personal details
- The term and course you wish to enroll in
- Your educational background
- Short essay
Step 2: Receive Result
Receive your application result by email within a few business days.
Step 3: Register Course
Register your course by following the instructions provided via email.
Step 4: Pay
Pay the fees no later than 1 week before the course start.
Step 5: Prepare for Class
Join orientation, download course materials, and prepare the pre-class assignments.
3. Application Deadline
We accept Pre-MBA applications year-round, however the deadline to register for a course is two weeks before the course starts.
4. Disclaimer
- Pre-MBA is a training program consisting of non-degree courses. It is not a master’s program.
- Course Enrollment Certificates are provided by GLOBIS Indonesia and not GLOBIS University in Japan.
- Prospective students interested in applying to the Part-time & Online MBA Program or the Full-time MBA Program offered by GLOBIS University in Japan need to undergo a different screening process from the Pre-MBA Program.
- Admission to the GLOBIS Indonesia Pre-MBA Program does not guarantee admission to degree courses at GLOBIS University in Japan.
Fees and Scholarships
1. Enrollment Fee
23,000 JPY (Approx. Rp2.530.000)
*1 Only applies to 1st course
*2 The enrollment fee is exempted for scholarship recipients (see 3. Scholarships).
2. Course Fee
128,000 JPY (Approx. Rp14,080.000)
3. Scholarships
The enrollment fee is waived for recipients of any of the following scholarships.
- Pre-MBA Scholarship for Overseas Applicants
- Young Leaders Scholarship
4. Payment Method
Bank transfer or credit card
5. Payment Deadline
Fees must be paid by 1 week before the course start day.
6. Cancellation Policy
The course fee and enrollment fee cannot be refunded if the cancellation is made within 13 days before the 1st day of the course.
7. GLOBIS Quality Guarantee
If, after completing a Pre-MBA course, you feel that the learning experience did not live up to your expectations, you can request to have your fees refunded and go through a hearing process with GLOBIS Indonesia.
